Bernheimer Contemporary

Bernheimer Contemporary Isabel Bernheimer is the fifth generation of an important, formerly Jewish family of art dealers. When she founded Bernheimer Contemporary in 2014, after 13 years of professional experience in major museums and galleries, it was already clear to her that she did not want to establish a classic programme gallery. Instead, she developed a differentiated model that does justice to the global art market as well as the highly complex production forms of artists in the 21st century: The white cube thus becomes one option among many. 
Artists today work in multimedia, in situational, i.e. site-specific, temporary for changing venues and with a wide variety of partners from museums to collectors to companies. Depending on the subject matter and project, they develop different formats simultaneously - including editions, ready-mades, multiples, collages, sculptures, installations and video.
And for some time now, more and more digital formats that implement AI and blockchains and merge virtual worlds with real ones. I see myself as a moderator, manager and producer of the artists' concepts and ideas, but also as a translator in dialogue with the partners and their ideas. Isabel Bernheimer's greatest passion, however, is the close cooperation with both young and established artists. I live and breathe in their world ."
