The Thinker

Product Description

Neontubes on Plexiglas, Concrete, Swarovski crystals, Old Master frame

Doesn t real thinking only start when you fundamentally question things?
The Thinker is a mixed media light sculpture by Jan Kuck.
A small skull made of solid concrete. Eye sockets filled with glittering Swarovski crystals.
Above it a reduced triple bent neon tube. All placed in a box open to the front made of colorful,
transparent Plexiglas plates – four red ones on the sides and one blue one on the back. Finished
with an old wooden frame from the 20s.
The neon tube is like a stylized question mark, while the skull gives the point of the question mark.
Thus, the thinker itself becomes a question mark that creates a confusing beautiful play of light, especially in a dark room.
