Oil on Molton
The contract was painted by Johanns Vetter with oil on molleton, whereby only the motif shines and the rest of the painting disappears into the dark.
Johannes Vetter was born in Munich in 1979. He initially trained as a stonemason and stone sculptor until he began studying painting at the Karlsruhe Art Academy in 2003.
He studied under Professor Franz Ackermann and Professor Helmut Dorner and was a master student of Marijke van Warmerdam in 2009. In 2010, he spent time working in London and in 2011 he received a scholarship for the debutant exhibition of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
Johannes Vetter’s works reflect the artist’s reflection on his own environment, from which he picks out certain aspects and analyses and questions them in a painterly and deeply psychological way. In doing so, he often addresses current issues and the prevailing zeitgeist. Through his critical view of society and its excesses, he reveals things that remain hidden to many and thus makes them visible. However, Vetter’s coded language contains metaphors that the viewer must first decipher.
