Ness Rubeys artistic practice explores the emotional and political dimensions of everyday life. She uses photography as a medium of confrontation, combining carefully staged images with sculptural elements, and grounds her work in the concept of cognitive dissonance - particularly in relation to consumption and identity. Her staged scenes often draw on the aesthetics of advertising, only to subtly subvert them through unsettling details or unexpected contrasts. Frequently, she works with food as both material and metaphor, where processes of melting play a quiet yet persistent role - a symbol of impermanence and transformation.
