Product Description
4 prints on glass.
Glass and charcoal offer a fascinating contrast: Charcoal occurs as a black, natural “earth plant” that evokes archaic ideas of the dark depths of the earth, sunken primeval forests and long-forgotten plants that we know in the form of their fossilization. Glass, on the other hand, stands for a technical “invention” that has been further developed in a variety of ways. Glass protects and alienates, it reflects and sharpens. Glass and charcoal are understood in their independence and are nevertheless economically and symbolically forfeited. The series “Coal Gardens” deals with the transformation, the disappearance and the hidden of coal gardens.
