My Miniatures photo series, 1986-1988, was about documenting the repetitive gestures of everyday life by performing a gesture with one hand and capturing it photographically with a camera in the other hand. This was a physical challenge. It was a performative action every time. Light, focus, angle of view, everything had to be under control in a difficult position looking through the camera.
The photos were printed in a miniature format, the smallest that was possible with my enlarger. This created a second level of intimacy.
In the course of appropriating my archive, I take a new, contemporary look at my work from the distance of time. In this case of the Edition for Parallel, the scan of the negative was produced on cotton paper using the pigment inkjet printing process.
