The drawings are part of the ongoing series ‘Memories Series’. The
starting point for this series are old photographs of me. The process of going back to the
child we once were, to our inner child, is important to find ourselves and to find out who we
want to be. We are born as children with our own dreams, wishes, characteristics, ideas and
hopes and the older we get the more we are formed by the people around us, by society, are
put in different boxes and it is expected that we align our life with the expectations of other
people and by that, what we really want, often takes a backseat. Through going back to our
younger self a process is activated to find out ‘Who am I ?’, ‘Who do I want to be ?’ and
‘What is important to me ?’.
