Sinfoil Dreams

Product Description

Sinfoil Dreams is an interactive room installation with a multi-channel video projection. The installation consists of long strips of aluminum foil, which are hung close together on steel cables
throughout the room.
The installation can be walked through, whereby the electrical fields and the body resistance of the visitors are sensed when they move through or touch the installation. The visitors interactions
influence both the video projections and the sound in the installation.
Sinfoil is both seductive and fragile. The material lures you to touch it, but at the same time it is sensitive, fragile and can easily be crumpled or even torn. This tension of wanting to touch it but not wanting to damage it is part of the fascination of the installation.
The aluminum sheets hang freely in the room above the steel cables, moving gently with every breeze. These movements create the unmistakable crackling sound that intensifies the desire to touch the installation.
The video projection is directed at the aluminum sheets and is reflected on them, casting shadows in the room and in the installation, which are constantly changing due to the movement of the sheets. The projection consists of a mixture of abstract, geometric shapes, which are generated in real time through the interactions with the visitors, and live videos, which are recorded by several cameras in the room.
The installation is connected and interacts with a simmilar Installation in Athens, Greece.
