Jakob Liu Waechter de Zordo developed ‘Hologram Paintings’ over several years as their diploma project at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. ‘Hologram Paintings’, made exclusively from black pigment, create colors by diffracting light through laser embossing of the surface. The viewer participates in the creation of the image, revealing different diffraction patterns through each new perspective. The diffraction of the light waves on the black picture surface causes interference colors of the entire spectrum; originally conceived as ‘noir transchromatique’.
