,JOIN LIFE-A TOTAL DEAL´consists of posters arranged in a kind of street situation. It can be seen at the same time as a statement and a kind of advisor or small nudge in the right direction, to start your life after all, to join life – possibly to start your life new or different.
Based on the discovery of a broken Mercedes star years ago on the street and the thought that it would be worn around the neck in the punk movement as a sign of anti-capitalism, these are then docked, so to speak, underlining the message ,JOIN LIFE’ in an oversized form made of steel.
In the end, the message should all result in ,A TOTAL DEAL’ which is finalized by a third, excessively attached poster to finding one’s own happiness in life. This effect is reinforced with a broken, crushed waiting sign on the ground. (You shouldn’t have to queue for a good life!)
The work was further developed especially for Vienna with the message in Austrian Dialect ,A DODL DEAL‘ ( A foolish deal/trade)-which also implies that the beautiful life can also quickly go wrong.
In autumn of this year the work will be completed with an action or performance in Athens.(GR)
We could all be the broken Mercedes star on the horizon.
