Spring without flowers

Product Description

“Spring without flowers” is part of “Oh, you song, […] head for the bright sun”, a series of works dealing with the intersecting histories of fireworks and gunpowder, sonic warfare, pipe organs, church music and representation. Its construction is based on the design of traditional spherical fireworks. All titles of the series are excerpts of lyrics from various versions of the Soviet Estrada song “Katyusha”, released in 1939. This one references “Primavera”, an appropriation by Members of the fascist Blue Division from 1943.
