Gallery Y, established in 2020 in Ljubljana, is a contemporary art gallery with a strong focus on socially critical art. Committed to addressing urgent social, political, and environmental issues, the gallery views art not merely as an aesthetic experience but as a powerful critical tool for reflection, dialogue, and transformation. Socially critical art is the core of Gallery Y s program. It is deeply reflected in the practices of the artists it represents—Tina Dobrajc, Mito Gegič, Arjan Pregl, Uroš Weinberger, and Sašo Vrabič. These artists challenge dominant ideological, political, economic, and identity structures, offering alternative perspectives on contemporary realities. While painting remains central, the gallery actively embraces other media and innovative curatorial approaches. With diverse exhibition programme supports generational and gender diversity.
