The Delta INST

"The Delta INST" was established in 2021 by four young artists active in the Yangtze River Delta region and currently has five members (Li Ke, Lyu Xiaokai, Yang Gang, Zhuang Ruizhe, and Sheng Yuanjun). The platform, from a unique contemporary and geopolitical perspective, conducts a series of contemporary art creation, exhibition, publishing, and international exchange projects. It aims to position and reconstruct the global perception of Chinese contemporary art in the 2020s by intervening in the global contemporary art system. The Delta INST "GODOWN" space emerged in 2023 in Hangzhou, China, as an independent space project currently operated collaboratively by artists. The space focuses on: organizing independent curatorial projects and artist exhibitions; inviting artists to create and display experimental works; and establishing a regular, diverse art community. It is committed to sharing resources and growing with contemporary artists and has launched the "The Delta Inter-Studio" to organize domestic and international artist residencies and parallel exhibitions. In 2024, The Delta INST "LOUNGE" space was created to explore new possibilities for multi-functional spaces as art venues."
