Künstlerhaus Wien

The Kunstlerhaus is home to Austria s oldest association of artists — a place with a socially critical and art-historically relevant exhibition and event program, focusing on contemporary Austrian art. It showcases both established artists and, in particular, emerging talents waiting to be discovered. It is a space where diversity is naturally integrated into programming, shaped by a multimedia approach, interdisciplinary thinking, and sustainable practices. The Kunstlerhaus serves as a vibrant space for communication, impact, and possibility — for artists as a site of exhibition and exchange, and for visitors as a place to experience and engage with art. In all thematic programming, the audience and art education are always central considerations. Ultimately, the institution thrives on participation: the art space is one of encounters and shared performative experience. At PARALLEL 2025, we present selected works from our upcoming exhibition: "DU SOLLST DIR EIN BILD MACHEN. Contemporary Art and Religious Experience." Artists featured in the exhibition, along with other members of the association, will be present to engage with visitors. Our art education team offers a dedicated space where the artworks can be explored in fresh, playful, and creative ways. Visitors are invited to discover, interact, and actively take part.
