Sabine Hilscher is a costume designer, visual artist and theatre director from Germany. She works for renowned theatres across Europe and teaches at several universities. Her main interest is the intersection of art, installation, bodywork, performance and costume. Basically, her work deals with individual aspects of the body and clothing, with the thematization of physicality and the associations generated with it. For our exhibition she worked on a remake of an earlier work called “blond braun rot”. Hairy women´s legs represent not only individuality and freedom but also question conventions, attributions and constraints. photo courtesy of Sabine Hilscher. www.sabinehilscher.de @sabine_hilscher. “blond braun rot”, 60 x 60 x 30 cm, pantyhose, latex, hair, 2001, remake.
