AI generated images on DigiFrame: the algorithmic principle behind so called “ai generated images” is a
method called machine learning. A computer system builds statistical
information about image contents by analyzing millions or even billions
of single images and their written description. Thereby it “learns”
about the typical content and how it relates to the words used to
describe those images.
This leads to a software system which can not only generate more or less
realistic looking “photos” based on a written prompt, but also
reproduces a condensed version of our human view of the world.

their natural habitat: the digital photo frame, which usually sits on
office desks and shows family photos and “beautiful” landscapes.

Bildern” ist eine Methode namens “maschinelles Lernen”. Ein
Computersystem sammelt dabei statistische Informationen indem es
Millionen oder sogar Milliarden von Bildern und deren Beschreibung
analysiert. Dadurch “lernt” es den typischen Bildinhalt und wie er mit
der Beschreibung korreliert.
Dies fuhrt zu einem Softwaresystem, das nicht nur mehr oder weniger
realistisch aussehende “Fotos” auf der Grundlage eines schriftlichen
“prompts” generieren kann, sondern auch eine verdichtete Version unseres
  menschlichen Blickes auf die Welt wiedergibt.

Dieter Kovacic legt diese ikonografischen Klischees frei, indem er
generische Begriffe (amerikanischer) Alltagskultur abfragt und in ihrem
naturlichen Habitat prasentiert: dem digitalen Fotorahmen, der
normalerweise auf Buroschreibtischen steht und Familienfotos und
“schone” Landschaften zeigt.
