Aaron Nora Scherer is a Vienna-based, social worker, sex worker, body worker and artist whose practice includes performance, video, sculpture and installation. Starting from questions about social dynamics, she creates ambiguous works that alienate the body. With TORN BODIES, the two-part sculpture fff_ (2022), consisting of bone and flesh, is on display. The sculpture refers to the frozen body after abusive experiences as well as the resulting trauma, which manifest as a brutal incision in the lives of those affected and is depicted by highlighting bones and flesh within the sculpture. In addition, the built-in laser pointers form a bridge between the subject — the body — and the outside world.
